SOCIO-ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION,
WE ARE DOING IT
NOW!
In the face of climate change, we need to think outside the box to find appropriate solutions. And in our region, we know how to do that. Participate in Future Exploration Workshops and share your views. All ideas will be compiled and used to produce a roadmap to a more prosperous, more united, and greener region.
Supported and facilitated by CIRADD and funded by Natural Resources Canada.*

Collectivités ZéN Gaspésie is on the move.
Created three years ago and gathering 14 regional partners from diverse backgrounds, the Collectivités ZéN Gaspésie is one of the eight active CZéN in Quebec. The CZéN stem from the roadmap for Quebec’s energy transition to carbon neutrality completed in 2020 by the Front commun pour la transition énergétique, which financially supports the implementation of the initiative. The project for the Gaspé Peninsula focuses on adaptation to climate change, social justice, and a collective reflection on what future we want for the region. The next three years are aimed at developing transition paths to a resilient Gaspé Peninsula.
Three major steps:
Step 1 (2024–2025): Develop a shared vision of a better future for all Gaspé communities through Future Exploration Workshops.
Step 2 (2025–2026): Identify trajectories leading to the future we want, working with decision-makers, experts and knowledgeable people from various communities and backgrounds.
Step 3 (2026–2027): Createan operational plan pointing out actions and priorities to be implemented to lead to the future we want.
The socio-ecological transition is an opportunity for the Gaspé Peninsula. We have the power to build a stronger, more united and more prosperous region right now.
Let’s do it together!
*The project is funded by Natural Resources Canada through the Climate Resilient Coastal Communities Program, and supported by CIRADD.

The Situation Report is an overview of the region and its climate challenges. It serves as a starting point for the project. It is more than just a report. It is an invitation to commit ourselves to building the future of our region together.
