OUR ACHIEVEMENTS
Reports and documentation on the steps in progress and completed in our process
The Situation Report of the socio-ecological transition in the Gaspé Peninsula is an overview of the region and its climate challenges. It serves as a starting point for the project. It is more than just a report. It is an invitation to commit ourselves to building the future of our region together.
From March to June 2025, Collectivités ZéN Gaspésie met 749 people and led 84 Future Exploration Workshops throughout the Gaspé Peninsula.
We met in schools, cegeps, community organizations, municipalities, and various workplaces, as well as at public events organized with local partners.
Aged 7 to 95, these people participated in these activities to dream together about the future of the Gaspé Peninsula and share their vision. The Future Exploration Workshops were adapted to reach all communities on the territory, including the English-speaking population, members of Mi’gmaq communities, and the French-speaking population.
During these Future Exploration Workshops, life stories of people living in 2050 were used. These stories were inspired by scientific trends and served as a starting point for discussing what we want for the Gaspé Peninsula among the possible futures. This facilitation method helped people immerse themselves in the future in a concrete way and imagine different possible worlds, without requiring any specific knowledge of environmental issues.
Last spring, hundreds of you came out to share your thoughts at our Future Exploration Workshops. You passionately shared your ideas, dreams, and aspirations for the region’s future.
Now, we are pleased to reveal the fruit of this collective effort: a shared vision for the Gaspé Peninsula in 2050! A vision that will lead to a Gaspé Peninsula that is more environmentally friendly, prosperous, resilient, and united.
